Pete Fraser Talk

In todays lesson (2/10/15) we learnt techniques on creating a film opening and how important all elements of creating a film opening are. For example it is essential to have good camera skills and to have not given the whole story away.
We watched previous years film openings and judged what marks they would have got for their film opening.

Pete Fraser advised to have a simple idea as there a many things that could go wrong. He also said that the idea must be realistic and that research is key when deciding how you are going to do your film opening.

Title research
The following are the main things needed in a film opening:

Appearance
Setting
Genre
Character
Narrative

We learnt that planning is really important so that your actors know exactly what to d and so that your opening scene turns out how you want it be.

Also that you should make sure it doesn’t look like a trailer, by putting the title of the film opening in the middle of it rather than at the end.

The titles should be arranged on the video in a clear and immaculate way that appeals to the viewers.

This is the powerpoint he showed us throughout he's talk:
